Advanced thin-section preparation for soft-to-hard materials, maximizing sample integrity and observation quality
At Tajiri Thin Section Lab, we prepare thin sections from a wide range of materials—from delicate fault rocks and volcanic ash to soils, concrete, bricks, and biological tissues. For composite specimens, such as resin–fiber systems, we tailor preparation to each component’s properties. We also develop methods for biological samples, enabling microscopy of hard–soft tissue interfaces, lipid-rich tissues, and mineralized structures like bone and teeth. Complementary services include cutting, resin embedding, and stabilization of fragile samples. Whatever your specimen and research goal, we’ll recommend the best approach—contact us for a consultation.
